This morning has felt so new, so fresh, and so inspired. I can't say that has always been true in the past; most New Years Days I feel the opposite. Today is different. I've already shot some images, had some coffee, my husband rubbed my back for twice as long today, and I snuck away when I was supposed to be cleaning to look at all of the wonderful work on the FRACTION MAGAZINE website and on LENSCRATCH.
Don't miss the wonderful Bridget Burke, a former student of mine, on Lenscratch.
Here's to an amazing New Year.

No Chaos, Only Order
In the midst of opening the photos we shot Christmas morning, I found this little gem. The moment I saw it, I realized I had been a little "Drill Sergeant-ish" about the process of opening presents this year. Here's to more chaos next year.

Moments of Being.
What a delight to wake up this morning and find an email from Crista Dix, owner of Wallspace Gallery in Seattle and Santa Barbara; I had been chosen to take part in this years New Directions show, Moments of Being.
This years show was juried by David Bram (Fraction Magazine) and I'm truly honored to have been selected.
Thank you to David Bram, Christa Dix and the rest of the Wallspace Gallery staff for putting together what promises to be an amazing show.

The Two Year Old Photographer.
I have been shooting the kids on this black couch in front of the white door since we moved into our new house. One day, after shooting my son (2) with little success, he walked behind my camera and I allowed him to push the shutter release a few times. I finally uploaded the images the other day and found this image. Of course I edited this shot, removing the heavy bags under my eyes, but he the one behind the decisive moment. ;)

Thanksgiving
I spent a few minutes writing a post yesterday that I didn't end up publishing. It was to include this lovely online exhibition of "family" in celebration of Thanksgiving. My image can be found about a third of the way down.
It's not too late to view the exhibit at the link below:
Lenscratch - Family
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
